Aquatic Invasive Species
Watercraft Inspection Program
The annual aquatic invasive species (AIS) watercraft inspection program is underway for 2024. The program operates from late spring through the summer and into the middle of fall. There is no fee to use this service.
The schedule will be updated on a weekly basis.
The overland movement of watercraft and water-related equipment is the primary vector for transporting AIS to uninvaded water bodies in North America.
Know Before You Go
Reminder:
- all motorized and non-motorized watercraft must stop at all open watercraft inspection stations for an inspection along your route of travel.
- a watercraft means a canoe, kayak, fishing boat, sailboat, personal watercraft (Jet Ski®), SUPs or other thing designed to transport a person on water.
- water-related equipment (e.g., inflatables, anchor, fishing gear) that have come into contact with a water body will also be inspected.
Set fines for aquatic invasive species (AIS) offences are in effect year-round.

Note:
- The watercraft inspection schedule is subject to change with short notice. Please check the schedule as close as possible to your planned travel time.
- Expect to be inspected and plan your trip accordingly.
- Decontamination units are generally available at all stations unless otherwise stated or if something occurs beyond our control.

- Minnedosa (at rest stop at junction of Hwy 16 and Hwy 10; 50.27090° N, 99.90564° W)
- Mulvihill (north of Eriksdale at junction of PTH 6 and PTH 68; 50° 56' 41.26" N 98° 09' 58.45" W)
- Selkirk (at Selkirk Park's main boat launch; S50° 08' 59.87" N 96° 51' 25.35" W)
- Ste. Rose du Lac (at junction of PTH 5 and PTH 68; 51° 03' 02.3" N 99° 30' 08.7" W)
- The Pas (on PTH 10 just south of PR 287; 53° 57' 38.36" N 101° 15' 00.43" W)
