At the Food Processor

Food safety programs are increasingly becoming a customer and regulatory requirement.  Companies of all sizes are adopting food safety programs to meet these expectations and demonstrate their commitment to safe food production.

Here's an overview of the information you'll find in this section:

Explaining food safety programs

Basic Food Safety Programs include personnel practices and sanitation programs.  Resources include a guidebook and electronic templates designed to support processors implementing these programs.

Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP are food safety best practices that make up a food safety program.

Food Safety Management Systems incorporates food safety practices with additional management requirements and in some cases food quality aspects.  Examples include: ISO 22000 and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards.

Food safety audits

This section guides you through the process of independent food safety audits, which provide objective evidence that food is produced in a safe environment.
