Traceability

Traceability movement process

Traceability is the ability to follow the movement of animals, plants and food through all points of a production system between a farm and a consumer.

Traceability:
  • is used to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from animal, plant or food emergencies
  • minimizes the impact (financial, social and environmental) of these emergencies
  • allows for added value and marketing opportunities (international market demands, product differentiation for consumers and quality management)
A traceability system is composed of three pillars:

Traceability Pillars

  Blue Food Processing
  Green Livestock and Poultry
