Winnipeg offers Western Canada’s largest festival of Francophone culture, Le Festival du Voyageur and Canada’s favourite festival of folk and world music, the Winnipeg Folk Festival. Theatre lovers will enjoy the Winnipeg Fringe Festival held in Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District. Canada’s oldest and most popular multicultural festival Folklorama is presented annually at several city venues and throughout the province, other festivals celebrate the Northern lifestyle, agriculture, and Icelandic and Ukrainian traditions.

In addition, Manitoba is host to the Manito Ahbee Festival which promotes and showcases Aboriginal music and arts; the Winnipeg International Children's Festival  which draws thousands of kids and parents to the banks of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers for four fun-filled days of entertainment every June; and the Western Canadian Music Alliance, Western Canada’s only full-fledged artistic and industry awards ceremony.

Dauphin is host to the Countryfest and Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival and the legendary Northern Manitoba Trapper’s Festival is always a treat, held in The Pas, Manitoba.  The Back Forty Folk Festival takes place in Morden, Manitoba in early June and features local and Manitoba musicians, family entertainment, a crafts area and food vendors.
