RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF ARMSTRONG - DENNIS LAKE CONTROLLED OUTLET (CLIENT FILE: 4653.00)
A Proposal has been filed by the Rural Municipality of Armstrong for the construction and operation of an outlet for Dennis Lake. Dennis Lake is a large wetland located northeast of Inwood which has experienced recent water level fluctuations from approximately 870.5 feet to 876.5 feet above sea level. An outlet is proposed to limit the duration of lake levels above 874.0 feet. A channel would be constructed from SE 2-19-1E to the Bass Drain in E 8-19-2E. The Bass Drain discharges into Willow Creek, which flows to Lake Winnipeg. Outflows from Dennis Lake would be limited to 50 cubic feet per second, and outflows would occur only when conditions in the Bass Drain and Willow Creek were suitable. Construction would occur once regulatory approvals had been obtained and the final design for the project was completed.
