Furs, Floods and the French; the rich cultural history of St. Malo’s
Join St. Malo’s Interpreter as we explore the history and mystery of this delightful hamlet. Follow the trail paved by fur traders, who also created the Crow Wing Trail, and experience the community created by French settlers who followed them. Floods and droughts fought and won with the construction of the spillway and a sneak peek at the role tradition plays in keeping St. Malo’s culture thriving. Be amazed by all you will discover in St. Malo.
St. Malo Bike Tour; Thursdays in July and August. 11.30a.m. Meet at the Amphitheatre.
The Dam, Prairie and Forest Hike
So many wonders, one little park. St. Malo Provincial Park’s Interpreter will walk you through our Tall-grass Prairie, where you can marvel at the diversity of this endangered ecosystem. Be introduced to the residents of our Aspen Oak Forest that boasts hazelnut, plum and wildlife galore. Or join us for a jaunt to the spillway and beyond, a journey into the history of St. Malo’s number one attraction, the lake. Every week, new and exciting topics to explore, St. Malo’s Interpreter will walk you through it.
Sundays 11.00 a.m. All summer long, meet at the amphitheatre. Check online for our weekly topic.
