Park Interpreters lead guided hikes, living history demonstrations, kayak outings, historic site tours, special events, campfire talks, and much more.

Programs are available year-round at Birds Hill, Spruce Woods and Whiteshell provincial parks. During the summer season, programs are also available at Grand Beach, Hecla/Grindstone, St. Malo and St. Norbert.

Teachers, are you looking for a way to bring your lessons to life? Take your students to a provincial park for an opportunity to follow in the steps of history or experience science in action, or connect with us virtually for a remote experience!

Park Interpreters deliver programming on cultural history, ecology and flora and fauna study, as well as outdoor skills. Programs are often multi-disciplinary and tied directly into Manitoba Education curriculum learning outcomes.

Manitoba Parks will make you an official Junior Naturalist, Park Explorer or Nature Detective with an official pin. On the back page of each booklet you will find a place to check off everything you do.

Pick up your Passport to Adventure booklet and explore Manitoba’s provincial parks!

As you and your family visit each of the participating parks, collect a stamp in your passport book from park staff at a park office. Once you have visited 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 parks, return your passport for recognition. Your passport will be returned to you along with a pin for each level you complete. There is no time limit to complete the program.

Can’t access staff for your stamp? Send us a photo of yourself in front of the park sign or distinct landmark within the park and send it in with your passport. We’ll stamp your book for you.

Passport booklets can be picked up at a campground office or visitor centre in one of the participating locations, and staff will be happy to give you your first stamp. You can also email us to request a passport booklet be mailed to you.
