Look at all that concrete! It was Manitoba's first year-round generating plant and marked the beginning of hydroelectric development on the Winnipeg River. The trail has 13 on-site interpretive signs that explain the dam's history, how to generate electricity from moving water and the people who called Pinawa home. The landscape of the trail is described as Canadian Shield Country, with thick forests and ancient granite outcrops.
