OSD Certificate programs
OSD offers two certificate programs which, in addition to supporting Civil Service Renewal priorities, are also open to participants from outside the Manitoba Civil Service.
The Office Professionals Certificate Program (OPCP) and the Essentials of Supervision Certificate (EOS) offer affordable, accessible professional development that can also be used for transfer credit into a variety of post-secondary education programs. (see Partnerships page in the guide)
In order to receive a certificate, you will be expected to complete an assignment for each workshop that you attend in a Certificate Program.
You can choose to attend a workshop and not enroll in the Certificate Program—in this case you will not be required to complete the workshop assignments. The assignments are for credit towards the Certificate Program and are a requirement when transferring credits towards a post-secondary institution certificate or diploma program.
If you have already completed some or all of the program modules within the past five years you can still apply this learning towards the relevant Certificate Program. To do this, simply register for the Certificate Program. Once your registration is confirmed, contact OSD at 945-2276 and we will make arrangements to send you the assignments for the workshops you have previously attended. When you have successfully completed the assignment you will receive credit for that module.
In addition to the tuition fees for each module/workshop, certificate programs have a one-time administration fee of $150 which is applied at the time of registration to offset the costs of processing assignments and tracking your progress through the program.
OSD holds an annual graduation event to recognize those individuals who have successfully completed a Certificate Program. |
