Management Internship Program Structure (MIP)



Develop your potential with MIP

The Management Internship Program (MIP) is your opportunity to prepare for a career in public service.  This two-year developmental program will provide enhanced opportunities for well trained, knowledgeable individuals who could, with appropriate experience and training, aspire to a responsible position within government.
Our goal is to open opportunities for individuals interested in working in public service.

Through a series of on-going job placements and training, MIP interns will experience a wide variety of government experiences in areas such as financial and program administration, research and analysis, project management and policy analysis.  Interns will enhance their existing skills and acquire new ones while learning the business of government.

Who is eligible for MIP?

  • Successful candidates will have post secondary education with a public sector focus from a university or college with a graduate degree, undergraduate degree or diploma or have an equivalent combination of education and experience and will be hired on a two year term
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • MIP is looking to provide training and experience for future leaders who have an interest in working for the Civil Service
  • Interns must be willing and able to accept work assignments throughout Manitoba
  • Interns must be willing to be located in Winnipeg for the duration of the program and be prepared to consider administrative, professional or management level career opportunities upon completion of the program
