
Disability Programs is responsible for the planning, development, maintenance, overall direction and management of programs and resources that support and enhance the quality of life of children and adults with physical and mental disabilities living in the community.
Disability Programs is divided into the following areas:
Children's Programs is responsible for policy and program development in supporting the ability of families to care for their children, aged 17 years and under, who have physical and/or mental disabilities. Children's Programs services, including Children's Special Services, and Children in Care with Disabilities, help families maintain their children with disabilities in their own homes and the local community to the greatest extent possible.
Supported Living is responsible for the planning, development, maintenance, overall direction and management of programs and resources that support and enhance the quality of life of adults with a mental disability living in the community. Community Living disABILITY Services is responsible for the review and development of policies associated with Day Services, Residential Services, Support Services and Residential Care Licensing.
Employment and Income Support Services provides leadership, direction and focus to programs for persons with disabilities interested in pursuing training and employment opportunities. Employment and Income Support Services is responsible for services provided through the Income Assistance for Persons With Disabilities Program and marketAbilities Progam.
