A: The job advertisement will have contact information in it. Make sure you have the job advertisement number available when you contact them.
Q: Where do I find the application form on your website?
A: Although we do have a standard Application for Employment it is not required to apply for a job in the Manitoba government. If you are applying for a position advertised on our job opportunities site we recommend that you submit a resumé and cover letter instead. Q: Where do I send my application in response to a job advertisement?
A: The job advertisement will have information on how and where to submit an application in it. Make sure you include the job advertisement number in your application.

Q: Where do I declare my employment equity status?
A: We normally recommend applicants declare in their covering letter or resumé. You may also complete an Employment Equity Declaration Form and attach it to your application.

A: No, you only need to self-declare in writing.

A: We have the Aboriginal Public Administration Program, an internship program specifically designed to recruit educated Aboriginal persons that are interested in a career in the Manitoba civil service and have the potential to fill future vacancies.
Employment equity is also a factor in the selection progress for all competitions. In some situations competitions are equity designated for or provide equity preference to Aboriginal persons.
For existing Aboriginal employees we have the Aboriginal Management Development Program which is designed to provide Aboriginal employees with the skills and experience to compete effectively for management positions. We also support Touchstone groups which emphasize providing support through community among Aboriginal employees.

A: We have two programs specifically designed for persons with disabilities:
- Public Administration Internship Program for Persons with Disabilities - an internship program specifically designed to recruit educated persons with a disability that are interested in a career in the Manitoba civil service and have the potential to fill future vacancies.
- Career Assistance Program for Persons with Disabilities - provides placement opportunities for persons with a disability in government department program areas where there is the likelihood of continuing employment by the department following the placement period.
Employment equity is also a factor in the selection progress for all competitions. In some situations competitions are equity designated for or provide equity preference to persons with disabilities.
Q: If I apply for the Career Assistance Program for Persons with Disabilities will my application automatically be considered for advertised positions?

A: We have three programs specifically designed for members of visible minorities:
- Career Gateway Program for Visible Minorities - designed to provide members of visible minorities with employment experience in the Manitoba government so they can successfully compete for positions within the civil service.
- Technical/Engineering Training Project for Visible Minority Immigrants - designed to provide relevant work experience to visible minority immigrant engineering professionals so they can satisfy certification requirements within Manitoba, and potentially fill engineering technician, technology and professional engineering positions in the civil service.
- Volunteers in Public Service Program for Visible Minorities and Immigrants - provides work experience for members of visible minorities and immigrants with work experience in a Canadian setting workplace.
