Ambulance (Emergency Medical Service)
Manitoba’s emergency medical response system operates as one of the core services delivered by the regional health authorities. Manitoba Health and Healthy Living does not insure ambulance transportation. For that reason, it is a good idea to have extra insurance (through a third-party provider such as Blue Cross, Voyager, CAA or a company or plan of your choice) so that if an emergency arises requiring an ambulance, you’ll be covered.
There are some instances where ambulance services are covered,
including
emergency air transportation for northern
Manitobans and patients with needs that
meet the requirements of the Manitoba
Lifeflight Air Ambulance Program.
