PIN Phase 2 Demonstration Sites
PIN Phase 2 officially began September 1, 2008 when the Phase 1 Demonstration sites began their second year of Quality-Based Incentive Funding (QBIF).
At that time, the physician group from PIN’s control site, Steinbach Family Medical Centre, created their work plan for Phase 2 to convert to a full PIN site. They began QBIF January 2009.

Selection Criteria
Phase 2 PIN Sites were selected based on the following selection criteria:
- Fee-for-Service primary care practice.
- Candidate Approved Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in place by April 30, 2009 or commitment to put an Approved EMR in place by January 2010.*
- Min. 5 FTE family physicians
- Min. of 6,500 active patients
- Space to support multidisciplinary team practice;
- Commitment to 3-year process and PIN objectives.
- Identified physician and administrative leaders
- Commitment to exploring new working relationships with the RHAs
