Acute Program

Admission Criteria – Acute Program:

Admission to the Acute Program is through a referring source (Physician, Community Mental Health Worker) contacting the SMHC Rota Physician for individuals that:

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Have been diagnosed with a major mental disorder
• Are medically stable
• Require assessment services
• Suffering from a treatment resistant major mental disorder requiring a safe and secure environment

Acute Bed Composition Numbers

 27 designated beds - 16 male beds, 11 female beds
    (1st Floor West- Short Term Treatment)

 16 designated beds--9 male beds, 7 female beds
    (3rd Floor- utilized for some Short Term Treatment patients)
