Tobacco Reduction
Review & Rate VI

Highlights from Review & Rate VI

  • The ad voted most effective is Doesn’t Kill. The ad shows that tobacco use has a devastating effect on health and can result in people living with disfigurements caused by smoking. The winning advertisement will be aired on television during March.
  • This year, more than 23,000 young people in grades 6 to 12 from 332 schools viewed the ads, took part in classroom discussions and voted.
  • The names of 50 students and 10 teachers will be drawn and winners will receive a $50 iTunes gift card for participating in the program.

What Teachers Have to Say About the Program

Last year, 378 teachers (an increase of more than 100 evaluations from the previous year) took the time to provide program feedback. This is what they have to say:

“The ads and experience had a tremendous effect on my students. ‘I am NEVER going to smoke!’ was often heard during this activity.”

“Keep up the good work. Anything graphic always helps to get a point across.”

“Thank you for putting together this ‘user-friendly’ resource.”

“It is a very motivational activity. Students appreciated having a voice in the selection of the ads.”

“I liked that you showed last year’s winner at the end of the DVD.”

“This is my first time conducting Review & Rate and I’m really impressed with the quality and user-friendliness of your program!”

“I love the program. I think kids really respond to these ads because they are so graphic and powerful. I’ve done every one!”

“This program is one of the few times the students don’t complain about missing gym time. They want to know which one wins.”

Thank you for your valuable feedback. The returned evaluations help ensure we continue to offer this program to schools.
