With a stable economy, boundless opportunities and a growing population, Manitoba continues to be a great place to call home. Such success drives a demand for more and different types of housing to meet the present and future needs of Manitobans.
Manitoba Housing and Community Development is building and revitalizing neighbourhoods by providing a variety of affordable housing options -- especially for those in need -- and supporting community revitalization. We are proud of our long term investments in revitalizing public housing and building new affordable homes. Manitoba Housing initiatives, our housing partnerships and programs such as Community Places and Neighbourhoods Alive! are strong examples of how government and citizens work together to revitalize communities in our province. Co-operative Development Services also supports community development and sustainability across Manitoba.
As Minister of Housing and Community Development and Minister responsible for the Voluntary Sector, I join all Manitobans who are proud of our strong reputation as a helping, welcoming province. This is a place where people are known for their contributions to their communities' well-being through volunteerism, friendliness and hospitality.
Our government continues to help all Manitobans achieve our potential by providing appropriate housing and by partnering to create safe neighbourhoods and reduce poverty.
I invite you to explore this website to discover the services and programs that are working with you to revitalize and sustain neighbourhoods throughout the province. Our goal is to continue to create stronger communities through housing solutions; develop healthy communities; and support Manitoba's unique, generous voluntary spirit to promote a sense of home for all.
