Manitoba volunteers make a tremendous contribution to communities across the province, helping organizations and organizations become stronger and more vibrant.

Individuals and volunteer organizations support health, the arts, sports and recreation, economic development, community revitalization, housing and more. The 2007 National Survey of Giving, Volunteering and Participating indicates that 54 per cent of Manitobans over the age of 15 volunteer, contributing approximately 81.5 million hours annually. At minimum wage, this effort is valued at over $733 million.

April 27, 2011 -Irvin-Ross Aknowledges Volunteers, Winners of Annual Service Awards - Volunteers make a difference and, through their actions, make Manitoba a great place to live, Housing and Community Development Minister Kerri Irvin-Ross said today as she recognized 33 individuals and community groups with Volunteer Service Awards.

May 6, 2010-MANITOBA'S COMMUNITY SERVICES COUNCIL RECEIVES $2 MILLION TO SUPPORT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS--- Non-profit, volunteer, community-service, social-service, recreation, and health-related organizations in Manitoba will benefit from more than $2 million in provincial support for Manitoba's Community Services Council (MCSC), Housing and Community Development Minister Kerri Irvin-Ross, minister responsible for volunteers, announced today.
