The Honourable John Harvard said, "Our public institutions need leaders who can inspire and motivate staff and can work with the public and private sectors for the good of all citizens. Dr. Preston is such a man."
His Worship, Mayor Sam Katz, said "According to Dr. Preston's colleagues, past and present, he takes on the large problems with grace and humor, and never turns down the small ones. He truly has a big picture approach. It is rare and it is truly commendable. While leadership takes ideas and vigorous drive to persevere toward action, it is the genuine compassion and consideration of individuals that resonates with people." Shannon Roe, Chair of the Lieutenant Governor's Medal Committee, said, "This award recognizes the exceptional achievement of a person who has shown distinctive leadership in public administration in Manitoba. Looking back to the past recipients of this medal, Allan Preston will clearly be joining that group of exceptional individuals". |
