Overview

Manitoba Marble Inc. currently offers a polished stone with a brand name of Manitoba Prairie Rose Marble. The stone is quarried in The Pas area, 35 km southeast of Snow Lake, Manitoba. This distinctive Manitoba stone offers beauty, quality, and versatility for various building and decorative applications.

Mineralogy

Manitoba Prairie Rose is a reddish limestone dolomite or dolostone (CaMg(CaCO3)2 of the Ordovician Red River Formation.

Markets

Marble is a multi – use archetectural material and is widely used for cladding, flooring, counter tops and high end furniture. It’s decorative finish and durability make it an ideal application in high traffic areas and can withstand extreme climatic conditions.

Locations

Manitoba Marble has a quarrying operation in the Pas and can supply customers with a full range of finishes or as large blocks or slabs of unfinished stone.

Mining

Large blocks or slabs of rock are quarried and shipped to plants for finishing.
