Seller’s Mountain is located in the Precambrian Shield, about 2 km south of Long Lake and 150 km northeast of Winnipeg in southeastern Manitoba. The high purity quartz core of the main zone has a length of about 310 m, a minimum width of 20 m and an observed thickness of 20 m at its south end. A composite surface sample from the southern part of the main zone contained 98.9% SiO2.

A tonnage of 320 000 tonnes of high purity quartz can be inferred, if the core thickness remains at 20 m along its length. The potential for >1 million tonnes of high purity quartz will depend upon its geometry at depth. A second major zone containing a central vein of white, massive 'bull' quartz was found 500 m east of the main zone, across a swamp. This zone has a length >300 m and a width of >10-15 m, but with an orientation parallel to bedding (unlike the main zone). A spot sample contained 98.4% SiO2 (Bamburak and McRitchie, 1994).

Quartz Mountain:

  • 2 km south of Long Lake in SE MB
  • Lease held by Donald Sellers
  • High purity quartz core of the main zone is 310 m long, 20 m wide and 20 thick at south end
  • Composite surface sample from the southern end contained 98.9% SiO2
