Project Description

Main objectives:

To evaluate the nature of a swarm of carbonatite dikes striking parallel to the regional structural trend, through the central islands of Paint Lake. Detailed investigations look to examine the potential for rare earth element mineralization associated with these dikes.

Methodology:

  • Detailed mapping of the carbonatite dykes.
  • Isotopic, mineralogical, and geochemical characterization of the carbonatite dykes.

 

Benefits:

Determine the potential for rare earth element mineralization associated with the carbonatite dikes.

 

Plans for fiscal year 2017-2018:

  • Preparation of scientific journal publication
