Introduction to the Mineral Resources Library Catalogue

 

Use the library catalogue to help you find books, reports, theses, maps, journals and video or audio recordings on the geosciences and mineral and petroleum industries.

More about the Mineral Resources Library

Established in 1975, the library collection has grown to hold over 30,000 volumes. Subject areas include the geosciences and the mineral and petroleum industries. As the provincial depository for the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC), the library has an extensive GSC collection with publications dating back to the late 1800s.

The library also offers:

  • a comprehensive map collection including surficial, geophysical, bedrock, and preliminary geological maps
  • more than 400 scientific and technical journals
  • exchange publications from the United States, Ontario, North Dakota, Saskatchewan and Minnesota geological surveys
  • a large collection of educational VHS recordings.

Note: The library catalogue contains approximately 19,000 searchable titles from the collection. If you do not find what you’re looking for, please contact the Mineral Resources Library for further assistance.

Catalogue records contain some or all of the following information:

Title, Author, Corporate Author, Edition, Source, Place, Publisher, Date, Description, Record Type, Series, Subject, Notes, ISBN, ISSN, Frequency, Holdings, Loan Policy, LC Card No., CANCN, Map Scale, NTS Area, URL, Status, Call No.
