GIS Map Gallery Geographic Information System Help Using the GIS Internet Map Server

• The "BACK", "FORWARD" and "REFRESH" buttons on your web browser do not function properly while viewing maps in this site.
   
• These buttons also do not change the map view, please use the
  " Back to Last Extent" tool to navigate back to a previous map view.
   
• Use the button to redraw the map.
   
• The "STOP" button on your browser will halt a request for a map allowing you to maintain control over the tool buttons once again.
   
• If you are having trouble viewing the map page or are receiving errors, empty your temporary internet files also referred to as your browser's cache. Now try and revisit the page.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 users

The GIS Map Gallery requires the use of pop-up windows to display maps. You must disable the default Pop-up Blocker provided with Windows XP Service Pack 2 to use the map gallery. 

To temporarily disable Pop-up Blocker:

• from the Menu Bar on the browser, select Tools> Pop-up Blocker> Turn Off Pop-up Blocker

         

• OR, from the Status Bar at the bottom of the browser, select the Pop-up Blocker icon and select Disable

You can permanently disable the Pop-up Blocker for the GIS Map Gallery site by identifying the map gallery server as a site that allows pop-ups:

• from the menu bar on the browser, select Tools> Pop-up Blocker> Pop-up Blocker Settings, and
   
• add geoapp2.gov.mb.ca to the "Allowed Sites" list.
