How to find a mining claim

  1. Click on the Mineral Dispositions link/icon below

  2. Click on the Mineral Dispositions link/icon again to load the map

  3. To find by claim holder, number, name, grouping, recording date, expiry date and/or NTS area (note: claims are displayed in red on the map)

    a) click on the Search button and enter claim information in corresponding box

    b) click on either the Search Province or Search Current View button

    c) click on the Search button to display the claim information for that location

  4. To find by location (note: claims are displayed in red on the map)

    a) click on Zoom In tool Zoom in icon

    b) place cursor at the upper left portion of the region you want to zoom in on

    c) click and hold the mouse button down to drag a red box over the region

    d) release the mouse button

    e) the map will be refreshed, displaying the area you outlined with the red box

    f) to zoom in more, repeat b) to d)

    g) click on the Identify tool Identify  icon and place cursor over a claim or claim area (note: claims are displayed in red on map)

    h) click your mouse to bring up claim information for that location

How to find assessment files

  1. Click on the Mineral Dispositions link/icon below

  2. Click on the Assessment & Mineral Disposition History link/icon to load the map

  3. To find by assessment number or company name (note: assessment files are displayed in green on the map)

    a) click on the Find button Find icon

    b) enter assessment number or company name in search box

    c) click Find String button to display information for the assessment file(s)

    d) scroll right to the Get Report heading

    e) click on link to view an assessment file

  4. To find by location (note: assessment files are displayed in green on the map)

    a) click on Zoom In tool Zoom in icon

    b) place cursor at the upper left portion of the region you want to zoom in on

    c) click and hold the mouse button down to drag a red box over the region

    d) release the mouse button

    e) the map will be refreshed, displaying the area you outlined with the red box

    f) to zoom in more, repeat b) to d)

    g) click on the Identify tool Identify  icon and place cursor over an assessment file number or area (note: assessment files are displayed in green on map)

    h) click your mouse to bring up assessment file information for that number/location

    i) scroll right to the Get Report heading

    j) click on link to view an assessment file
