The results of competitive bidding on November 8, 2006 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Science, Technology, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $205,799.60 being added to provincial revenue.

Thirteen of the twenty-one lease parcels offered, covering 1488 hectares (3,720 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $195,391.60. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $131.31 ($52.52 per acre). The average bonus at the last sale held on August 16, 2006 was $167.91 ($67.16 per acre).

Silver Hawk Resources Ltd. paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Pierson area. The firm paid $1,068.28 per hectare ($427.31 per acre) as a tender bonus.

This is the last of four sales scheduled for 2006. The next sale will be held on February 14, 2007. The deadline for posting requests is November 10, 2006.

In 2006,  the four sales of Crown oil and gas rights held generated $2.28 million in revenue, with a total of 119 parcels sold covering 12 778 ha (31,574 acres). The average bonus price per hectare for Crown oil and gas leases was $171.39 ($68.56 per acre).

This is the last of four sales scheduled for 2006. The next sale will be held on February 14, 2007. The deadline for posting requests is November 10, 2006.

Four sales are scheduled for 2007; February 14, May 16, August 15 and November 14.
