Women in the Arts: Artists Working for Social Change This publication pays tribute to the many women artists in Manitoba who, through art, express and inspire new visions and perspectives for change in our world. As pioneers, mentors and leaders, these women use their art to catalyze change and stir others to think critically. For Women’s History Month 2011, we recognize the accomplishments and contributions of women artists working for social change.

Manitoba Women’s Health Strategy 2011
The Manitoba Women's Health Strategy recognizes the distinct health needs of women in the planning, implementation and delivery of health care services. It seeks to address the broad range of women's health issues, and ensure awareness and responsiveness to gender differences in all aspects of health care delivery in Manitoba.

Living in Manitoba: A Resource Guide for Women with Disabilities
This guide provides Manitoba women living with disabilities, with information, resources and contacts that meet a variety of their needs. Sometimes a lack of information is the most significant barrier to accessing what is needed.  This guide was developed in collaboration with the Manitoba Disabilities Issues Office.

Living in Manitoba: A Resource Guide for Immigrant Women
This guide will help immigrant women who are new to Manitoba navigate resources and services in our province. It takes into account the unique settlement experiences of immigrant women and offers advice on cultural practices, housing, child care, and legal rights and protections.

Taking the Lead: Women Who Have Made a Difference in Manitoba
Since 1992, women in Canada have celebrated Women's History Month in October. During this month, we recognize and honour women's accomplishments throughout our country's history. Their achievements mark a path for us to follow, and serve as strong examples for us to continue their work.
The Parenting on Your Own Handbook (ninth edition, 2010)

This guide advises single parents of their rights and lists services and supports that are available in the community, such as housing, income, child care and legal services. It is an excellent resource for anyone accessing services in Manitoba.

The Status of Women Division provides this document as a guide to resources and information, not as an endorsement of any listed service.

These publications celebrate Manitoba's accomplishment of having the highest number of female Members of the Legislative Assembly in Manitoba's history, the highest percentage in Canada, as well as contributions made by several Manitoba women to their communities in a variety of arenas, including grassroots organizations, businesses and politics.

Tips for Working Alone: Keeping Safe at Work (pdf)
This book provides some basic tips about keeping safe at work. It also explains what employers are required to do to protect employees from experiencing violence.

Manitoba's communities are, on the whole, safe places in which to live and work. However, a first-ever study of its kind released in February 2007 revealed that nearly one-fifth of all incidents of violent victimization occurred in the victim's workplace.
