Canada Ratifies UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2010). Canada has affirmed its’ support for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. Family Violence Against Women with Disabilities. DisAbled Women’s Network Ontario offers an informative web page on violence experienced by women with disabilities. Opening Doors Renews Manitoba’s Commitment to Manitobans with Disabilities (2009): In June 2009 the Minister Responsible for Persons with Disabilities released a discussion paper on a long-term disability strategy entitled Opening Doors: Manitoba's Commitment to Persons with Disabilities. The goal of Opening Doors is to renew and build upon the vision and principles outlined in Full Citizenship: A Manitoba Provincial Strategy on Disability.
