Manitoba Heritage Trust Program

The Manitoba Heritage Trust Program offers provincial support with matching grants of one dollar for every two dollars raised by community museums, archives, and supporting organizations to establish and grow endowment funds providing long-term sustainable revenue for their organization. The program, initiated by the Manitoba government, is administered by The Winnipeg Foundation in partnership with Manitoba’s rural community foundations and with support from the Association of Manitoba Museums and the Association for Manitoba Archives.

With the coronavirus pandemic slowing fundraising activities, the Manitoba government has extended the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program beyond March 31, 2021 to give heritage organizations more time to take advantage of the program. Having stable and predictable heritage trust endowment revenues will allow community museums, archives and supporting heritage groups an opportunity to become more independent and sustainable.
