Develop a Plan
Municipalities and communities are required to produce an emergency plan approved by the local authority for submission to EMO. While there are a variety of formats that can be used by municipalities, EMO provides a standardized Municipal Emergency Plan Template that:
- standardizes common emergency management processes and procedures while allowing municipalities to customize the plan for their use,
- improves the updating process by grouping information requiring regular updates into a few key areas,
- facilitates communication with neighbouring municipalities when planning for and responding to emergencies, and
- allows external agencies, partners, and stakeholders to quickly navigate plans during emergencies as information is presented in a common format and in common locations in the document.
If you have comments or suggestions for revisions to the template, or have a form that you would like to share with others, please provide your inputs to EMO at emo@gov.mb.ca.
