Testimonials:
“I moved from Winnipeg to Brandon in June 2019 after articling in the Winnipeg office.
The experience I have gained in a regional office has been invaluable for my development as a prosecutor. The broad range of work and early exposure to serious files allowed me to quickly develop excellent advocacy skills and a significant understanding of criminal law and how to effectively prosecute different offences. I have always received excellent mentorship from both colleagues in my office and from Winnipeg – who always make themselves available over Teams or for a phone call.
Living in a smaller city has been very enjoyable, especially having young children. Shorter commuting time has meant more time with my children than I would have in a bigger city and an ability to do more weeknight activities. We have taken advantage of living just over an hour away from Riding Mountain National Park and all of the year-round activities the park has to offer.”

“Working in The Pas Crown office has been a deeply rewarding, challenging and fulfilling experience. I chose to come to the north to start my career as I wanted to gain exposure in various different areas of prosecution and to have the opportunity to take on more complex files earlier in my career. I have now been in The Pas for just over two years. I can say without any reservations, that my expectations for the sort of work I would be doing have been greatly exceeded. At such an early point in my career, I have had the opportunity to essentially become a bit of an expert in various areas of the law. I have had Crowns with far more years experience at the bar, reach out to me to ask me for my input on their files. I have formulated Crown opinions, Crown Positions and completed sentencings including filing casebooks on arsons, robberies, sexual assaults and cruelty to Animal cases. I filed a community impact statement from the Humane Society for a cruelty to animal sentencing: which was only the second time this has been done in the province. I am also one of the few Crowns in this province to have completed a sentencing circle. I would be happy to chat further with anyone interesting in working at The Pas Crown Office.”

“My role as a Crown attorney with the Manitoba Prosecution Service at Thompson regional office has been both rewarding and exciting.
I moved from Ottawa, Ontario to join the Thompson Regional Office of Manitoba Prosecution Service in January 2025.
Over the past six months at the Thompson regional office, I have had the privilege of participating in several training and developmental programs, managing a wide range of criminal cases and travelling to many communities.
Manitoba Prosecution Service promotes an open-door policy and provides a conducive work environment to grow and flourish through amazing support from more experienced colleagues who are ever ready to guide and mentor. I am glad to be part of an organization where I can make meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience handling diverse criminal case files from start to finish, all with the support of an exceptional team.”
