Every drop counts

Water is life. It is necessary for the survival of all living organisms on Earth; is the basis of many economic activities, including food production and agriculture; and is a key component of many cultural, spiritual and recreational activities.

Save Water

Although approximately 70 per cent of the earth's surface is covered with water, only about 1.2 per cent is available as drinking water.

With so many lakes, rivers and watersheds in Manitoba, it may be hard to believe, but water is a finite resource.

Climate change, growing populations and industries' demands for water all affect the amount of available water. Water conservation is imperative because "every drop counts".

The good news is each of us can make simple changes and adopt practices that help conserve this precious and finite resource.
