Forest Invasive Species

Protect Manitoba's Trees. Don't move firewood

How Emerald Ash Borers are Spread

This highly destructive forest insect has spread in North America through the movement of infested ash trees and untreated ash wood, particularly firewood. Millions of ash trees have been killed in Ontario and Quebec and in the U.S. The Emerald Ash Borer is well suited to Manitoba's climate and could establish a population here too, threatening this province's abundant ash tree populations.
