Healthy Relationships with Yourself

People are social beings.

We have many relationships — from acquaintances, to best friends, to family members.

In this section, we'll talk about how we're connected to ourselves and to one another — through family, friends and our dating relationships. We'll talk about what healthy relationships may look like and how to recognize when they're not, what we can do when we encounter difficult situations and where we can go for help.

The one thing all of your relationships have in common is YOU!

So, know yourself. Like yourself. Care about yourself.

Write down, draw or paste items that represent you on a piece of paper. For example, if you like basketball, place an image of you playing basketball or your favourite basketball player. If you like to travel, you can paste an image of your favourite place to visit. You can also use the space to write about yourself as if you are introducing yourself to a new person you want to be friends with. Whether you're pasting images, drawing or writing, think about who you are and what you like about yourself, and express that to other people.

Sometimes, we like to be around many people. Sometimes, we just want to be alone. We all have different moods at different times.

Being alone can be a nice break. It's a time to think and dream without interruption. It's a time to plan what to do and who to do it with. It's a time when you don't have to work hard at anything. It's a time when you can just be yourself and relax.

Take some time to think about both of these times:
