Services to Government

Records Advisory Services

Staff in the Records Advisory unit provide consulting services to government departments and agencies on records scheduling and recordkeeping generally.

For information about government records policies and procedures, and for assistance with records scheduling, government offices should first contact their department or agency Records Officer. For more specialized advice and consultation, Records Advisory staff may be contacted by telephone, fax and e-mail. Site visits or special projects may be arranged where required.

Government Records Centre Services

The Government Records Centre (GRC) provides centralized records storage, retrieval and destruction services for all government departments and agencies.

GRC staff provide advice and guidance to government offices preparing records for transfer, and respond to questions related to the transfer and tracking of records, and retrieval of semi-active records by government offices.

Preservation Services

The Archives of Manitoba's Preservation Services staff can provide advice on a range of preservation and conservation matters, including information on disaster preparedness and emergency advice on salvaging damaged records.
