  • Approximately 300 scientific and technical journal titles

  • Collection of VHS videos, DVDs and audio recordings

  • Comprehensive map collection on Manitoba Geology including surficial, geophysical, bedrock, and preliminary maps

  • Geological Survey of Canada collection. The Mineral Resources Library is the provincial depository for Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) publications

Research and Reference Services

  • Library holdings: 30,000 volumes

  • Public access catalogue of library titles: includes approximately 19,000 searchable titles

  • GeoRef: searchable database of references and selected abstracts to the world's literature in geology. Over 3.5 million records since 1785. Prepared by the American Geological Institute

  • CanGeoRef: a bibliographic geoscience database that covers the Canadian geoscience literature since the early 1800's. In 2010, the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) and the Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences (CFES) began a cooperative arrangement to improve the coverage of Canadian publications in the GeoRef database and to provide a less expensive alternative to GeoRef for smaller companies and individuals (consultants). AGI and CFES made this database available by subscription to individuals, organizations and companies on September 15, 2011.

  • Bibliography of Manitoba Geology: compiled by Manitoba Growth, Enterprise and Trade, this searchable database is a comprehensive bibliography with 14,900 references on the geology of Manitoba

  • Corporation Files: compiled by Manitoba Growth, Enterprise and Trade growing from the original files donated by J.P. Wet, the last secretary of the Manitoba Chamber of Mines. This searchable database contains descriptions of files, mostly historic pertaining to mining and exploration in Manitoba since the 1920s. The files contain newsclippings, company publications, company histories and additional resources.

  • Northern Miner: searchable database of the Northern Miner, 1986 to present

  • Internet access and WiFi to a host of other mineral related web sites
