The results of competitive bidding on August 12, 2009 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Science, Technology, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $2,847,294.78 being added to provincial revenue. This sale is the second best on record.

Eighty-nine lease parcels, covering 9002 hectares (22,243 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $2,780,189.45. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $308.86 ($124.99 per acre).

Canadian Coastal Resources Ltd., paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Waskada area. The firm paid $3,317.24 per hectare ($1,342.46 per acre) as a tender bonus.

This is the third of four sales scheduled for 2009. The next sale will be held on November 4, 2009. The deadline for posting requests is August 14, 2009.
