The results of competitive bidding on February 14, 2007 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Science, Technology, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $19,189.00 being added to provincial revenue.

All of the thirteen lease parcels offered, covering 896 hectares (2,214 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $10,853.00. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $12.11 ($4.85 per acre). The average bonus at the last sale held on November 8, 2006 was $131.31 ($52.53 per acre).

Tundra Oil and Gas Partnership paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Daly area. The firm paid $13.30 per hectare ($5.32 per acre) as a tender bonus.

This is the first of four sales scheduled for 2007. The next sale will be held on May 16, 2007. The deadline for posting requests is February 16, 2007.

Four sales are scheduled for 2007; February 14, May 16, August 15 and November 14.
