The results of competitive bidding on May 11, 2011 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Innovation, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $6,052,769.09 being added to provincial revenue.

Eighty Six lease parcels, covering 9466 hectares (23,390.04 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $5,985,236.40. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $632.26 ($255.87 per acre).

Plunkett Resources Ltd., paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Waskada area. The firm paid $6,501.51 per hectare ($2,631.12 per acre) as a tender bonus.

This is the second of four sales scheduled for 2011. The next sale will be held on August 10, 2011. The deadline for posting requests is May 13, 2011.
