Bright Futures
In 2017/18, the Manitoba Government is once again investing in the Bright Futures fund to support programs aimed at improving high school graduation rates and increasing access to post-secondary education for disadvantaged and low income students. The Bright Futures fund supports community-based organizations and partner schools to address the key barriers to post-secondary education that are faced by under-represented students.
In 2017/18, over 3000 students will participate in programming and/or receive bursary dollars for post-secondary education! The Bright Futures fund is proud to work with the following programs:
"I think that Career Trek made me more interested in careers, school and more"
Community School Investigators (CSI)
"I learned that friendship is everything and everyone in CSI is a great person."
Medical Careers Exploration Program
"We know we can do it but what we want to achieve is excellence"
"Working together for student success"
"I have learned dedication is another word for success"
"Power Up! helped in a lot of different ways. It helped me improve my ways with kids as well as grown-ups and peers. Power Up! has changed me a lot."
Wayfinders - a Bright Futures Program
"I come to Wayfinders 2-3 times a week. It's good to have a place where you can
actually do your work and have tutors who can help."
"Three hundred and twenty students in grade 5 to 12 were awarded with a $1,000 dollar bursary for post-secondary education this year! Students earned these bursaries as a result of their high attendance, excellent grades, engagement in school and leadership activities."
