Welcome to the Northern Manitoba Community Consultation Board
The Northern Manitoba Community Consultation Board (NMCCB) is a Ministerial Advisory Board established under The Northern Affairs Act. The Board provides independent, evidence-based recommendations to the Minister of Municipal and Northern Relations on proposals affecting Northern Affairs communities, settlements, and areas.
The NMCCB does not make decisions on behalf of the province. It reviews proposals referred by the Minister, conducts public consultations with affected communities, and prepares recommendations — helping ensure residents of Northern Manitoba have an opportunity to participate in decisions affecting their communities. Final decisions remain the responsibility of the Minister under The Northern Affairs Act.
The Board's mandate is to accept and address matters referred by the Minister concerning:
- Community designation
- Community boundary changes
- Community corporate status
This website provides information about the Board, explains how the consultation process works, and outlines how residents can participate by reviewing Public Notices, attending public meetings, and submitting written comments.
Current Proposals & Public Notices |
A short line on Homepage, linking through to the full Public Notices page:
- If a proposal is currently before the Board, a brief line naming it and linking to "View Public Notices" for full details.
If nothing is currently open, Home displays:
- "There are currently no active consultations or public notices before the Northern Manitoba Community Consultation Board." — with a link to the Public Notices page regardless, so visitors can always find it.
