Animal Health

The Manitoba government provides several services to help livestock producers protect animal health and prevent economic losses on the farm. The starting point is knowledge.

In this section producers can link to information about effective disease control and surveillance of certain types of disease and the whole and partial carcass condemnation rates and reasons for condemnations in Manitoba livestock and poultry. This section also covers the safe use of veterinary drugs. Other resources outline biosecurity practices that prevent pathogens from entering the herd or flock or spreading to other animals.

The Veterinary Diagnostic Services Laboratory offers analytical services and complete post-mortem examinations.
