Protein Sources

The growing world population, increasing income levels in emerging markets, and changing dietary habits are some of the many factors driving demand for protein. Protein is found in a variety of both animal and plant sources. Manitoba has access to high-quality and increasingly sustainable plant and animal protein production of raw commodities and value-added processed foods. Manitoba acknowledges that maintaining assurance of supply in an increasingly complex agri-food "supply web" is both a priority and an opportunity for the province.
