Manitoba Agriculture's Food Development Centre (FDC) is a fee-for-service facility that provides product commercialization with technical and research assistance for agri-food businesses, with a services focus on plant and animal protein products and ingredients, including waste stream evaluation and co-product processing.
  

FDC offers a single window approach including pathfinding services to assist your food business in meeting its goals.

Protein Development

FDC offers protein extraction services to create protein concentrates and isolates at laboratory and pilot plant scale using the following technologies: 

  • alkaline extraction
  • isoelectric precipitation
  • member filtration
  • enzyme-assisted extraction

FDC also offers:

  • Optimization of processing parameters
  • Drying technologies - spray drying, drum drying, freeze drying
